1. Check for travel advisory alerts. Countries are rated Level 1=exercise normal travel precautions to Level 4: do not travel due to serious risks for safety/security. See: USA State Dept.

2. Check the vaccinations required before for your destination. See: USA CDC, Center for Disease Control.

3. Check for current health conditions & alerts in your destination. See: World Health Organization.

4. Check what other documents are required besides a Passport, like a Visa or ETA electronic travel authorization. See: USA State Dept.

5. Check the drinking water safety, travel packing list including over-the-counter medicines to bring, locations of clinics, heat illnesses, and more. See: USA CDC, Center for Disease Control.
