Move to Your Groove
Did you know - physical & mental health are connected. If you have poor physical health, it can lower your mental health. And likewise, poor mental health will affect your physical health.
I can attest to this: chronic stress caused a mental health decline which then caused a physical health decline, including: increased illnesses, loss of sleep, teeth grinding, weight gain, and more.

It helps produce endorphins, your - (que music) - "I feel good, Na-na Na-na Na-na Na" hormones. All types of aerobic type activity, like bicycling or basketball can produce those "feel good" feelings. Even walking does the trick if you alternate average & fast paces.
It improves your focus, memory, and cognitive (thinking) function.
It strengthens your immune system & lowers the risk of disease.
Exercise reduces stress, anxiety, and depression.
It helps you relax & get better sleep.
It's a type of meditation. With more complicated exercises like tennis, trail jogging, and choreographed dance/cardio your mind focuses on the moves or how to avoid obstacles. This means your mind forgets about the stressful day. If walking: talk to a friend, pray, or see how many animals, flowers, and shrooms you can spot.
Your natural "fight or flight" instinct is an acute stress response. The nervous system reacts to dangerous/stressful situations & adjusts your respiratory & heart rates, controlling your sub-conscious reactions. With regular exercise, your body produces less stress hormones like cortisol & the fight/flight reaction is reduced.
Exercise helps your body's systems work together, which also lowers the "fight or flight" reactions.
Walking at a brisk pace after the onset of stress, helps your muscles relax. You're also breathing deeper which helps calm you.
Exercise improves your mood & boosts self confidence.
It gives you more energy to handle every day chores & activities.
Exercise also helps you control current health concerns: high blood pressure, insulin sensitivity, type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis, ADHD, and more.
